Power unit No. 3 of the Beloyarsk NPP will be put into scheduled repair on July 26, according to the BNPP telegram channel.
As Interfax was specified in the press service of the nuclear power plant, it is planned to reload the fuel and replace the steam generator modules.
Earlier, in February, the third reactor was disconnected from the network for refueling, maintenance and preventive maintenance. In total, in 2022, Beloyarsk NPP expected to carry out three scheduled repairs of the BN-600 and BN-800 reactors.
The Beloyarsk NPP was put into operation in April 1964 and provides about 16% of electricity generation in the Sverdlovsk region. The first power units with thermal neutron reactors AMB-100 and AMB-200 were shut down due to exhaustion of their resource. Units with fast neutron reactors BN-600 (since 1980) and BN-800 (since 2015) are in operation.
