One of the world’s largest fleets of cargo unmanned aircraft systems will appear in Russia by the end of 2022, RIA Novosti was told at the Archipelago 2022 intensive in the press service of the National Technology Initiative (NTI).
„By the end of 2022, Russia will have one of the world’s largest cargo UAS fleets of 35 unmanned helicopters to deliver parcels and cargo weighing up to 100 kilograms over long distances,” the press service said.
The first flights of drones will begin in July this year.
“A contract has already been signed with Gazprom Neft-Snabzhenie,” Andrey Potemkin, Deputy General Director for Development of Aviatelecominvest, said at the Archipelago 2022 design and educational intensive.
According to him, in the near future a company will be created in the Russian Federation, which will be engaged in the further development of the fleet of drones. In addition, it will work in cooperation to develop technologies for integrating unmanned aircraft into a single airspace.
The company will be independent of foreign components and components.
“In general, the cooperation provides for the participation of more than 10 Russian technology companies. The company will act as a “locomotive” for the formation of a new market for unmanned air logistics,” Potemkin said.
