Wall Street is expected to rise and European stock markets rose mid-session on Thursday under the influence of corporate results pending announcements from the British central bank that could accelerate the rise in its key rate. Futures contracts are signaling a gain of 0.2% for the Dow Jones, 0.39% for the Standard & Poor’s-500 and 0.61% for the Nasdaq. In Paris, the CAC 40 gained 1.22% to 6,550.72 around 10:40 GMT. In Frankfurt, the Dax takes 1.43% and in London, the FTSE grabs 0.13%.
The pan-European FTSEurofirst 300 index rose 0.65%, the Eurozone EuroStoxx 50 1.26% and the Stoxx 600 0.78%.
The European and American markets ended up on Wednesday after the good reception reserved for the results of several large groups and the announcement of a surprise acceleration of the ISM services in the United States.
These two factors allowed investors to ignore the more worrying indicators published in Europe as well as the words of several Federal Reserve officials that the central bank should continue to raise rates in future meetings.
